![]() software should get LESS buggy with updates, not MORE, but that seems not to be the case here. which, as ive said, makes this software effectively useless.Ī more worrying issue is the introduction of new bugs over time. and what are you supposed to do when you are using two input source videos with different properties, and editing them together? i guess you are just screwed. There is a workaround, but it requires creating a custom video mode profile that matches your input source, which then further requires a restart of the software. and it was reported and confirmed a bit more than 6 weeks ago (at the time of this review) and still has no fix, even after two updates in the interim (which have introduced NEW bugs, see later in the review) This didnt ALWAYS happen, it is a new bug introduced in an update at some point 3-4 months ago. after this point, it will only output black frames. for example, if you attempt to export at 30fps, the rendering will fail at the 80% timecode for the input sources (24 being 80% of 30), likewise at 60fps it will fail at the 40% mark on the input source. anything higher, and the exporter gets confused about where to begin and end the output. the output profiles will ONLY WORK at 24fps, a very low framerate. for example, if you were to import a 60fps source video, and wanted to output at 60fps, you are out of luck. In particular, there is a major bug revolving around framerates for the output video. it doesnt matter how good the functionality or interface is if you cant produce usable output of the final results. which is, of course, the most important part of a package like this. in particular, when it comes to rendering final output. Unfortunately, it has some significant bugs that make it impossible to recommend. its probably the fastest and easiest package ive used for simple video edits. very easy to manage multiple video and audio tracks, split timeline items, ripple delete, resizing, etc. it includes a lot of features you typically only see in more expensive pieces of software, and the timeline editing is particularly good. On the up-side, this is one of the easiest to use editors out there (ive used MANY over the years, ranging from high-end pro software, to open source offerings, to the cheap 'software your mom can use to edit vacation video' stuff). and it feels like new bugs are introduced with each update. If everything actually worked in this software, it would be an easy recommendation. steer clear of this software and developer. Note: All sheep and explosion sounds when spectating the other player were edited in afterwards because those sounds were absent from the original recordings (a game bug when spectating). MP4, FLV, AVI, MOV, F4V, 3gp, 4K Video, MKV, WebM, GIF Animation, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV, WebM VP9, ASF, DVD (pal), DVD (ntsc)įeatures: speed slowed down / increased zooming-in effect fade in from black / fade out to black transitions With it I am making satisfying gaming videos, projects I can be proud of. The best way to learn is to simply click on features or drag and drop them onto your project and see what they do. But this can be avoided by making use of the "scissors" feature (Split at Playhead) at the desired point instead. In stead of letting you smoothly click and drag the end bracket back or forward, it sometimes takes on a mind of its own and quickly runs away with your end bracket towards the start of the clip, overshooting the spot you had in mind. The only negative so far is an annoying glitch/bug when trimming the end of a clip (right side). Custom set the video resolution of your projects. Add text to video clips or picture stills. Reposition or crop your video clip to get a 'zoom in' effect. Manipulate the speed of your video or sound clips: slow them down or speed them up. Add filters like 'fade in/out from/to black' by dragging the filter onto the specific clip. Add multiple video and sound tracks to your project. Quickly trim a single video clip and export to PC drive.īut you can also add all kinds of extra stuff at your leisure. ![]() ![]() If you want quick and easy, you do quick and easy. I am happy to say that MovieMator can be as simple OR as complicated as you want it to be. So when CineLab stopped working, the hunt was on for something to replace it. Too many features and gimmicks thrown at you at the same time can be daunting. I want to edit a clip quickly and get back to gaming. My previous video editor was very simple and basic. ![]()
