![]() As least, that's how I remember it when I was buying them in retail stores and could do so at the time.ītw, what's Sapphire, a new type of cardstock? This is news to me. ![]() Walmart and Target always had the boxes and packs no matter what, while Toys R Us was always the one that either would or wouldn't have them (again, depending on the series). Depending on which of the three retail stores released both the boxes and the packs (and depending on the series, two of the three would do this and the third one either would or wouldn't), it would usually be five or six bonus stickers for a typical modern Wacky series on average. These three retail stores were for many years the main and only places to go to get the modern Wacky series, especially their individual bonus boxes which would always have at least half of the Bonus Stickers for each series (the other half would always be in bonus blister packs that were also sold there as well). BTW, the back of the box has a small sticker on it with a bar code. They are plain black with just the blue ANS 8 sticker slapped on it, but I still think they look pretty cool. Toys R Us did it as well, years before they recently went broke. Sketch Cards by Wacky Packages Artists (1:973 odds per pack) All New Series 8 Binder PROMO ITEMS - Topps Sell Sheet 8 ½ X 11 Released. Walmart and Target weren't the only retail stores that released modern Wackys back then. I would not be surprised to see the death of non-sport cards entirely before I pass from this world. I'm just thankful Topps can still release stuff online that makes enough money to keep releasing other stuff. ![]() I'm surprised we even see Topps retail releases at Walmart and Target these days, and except for the odd release like "Stranger Things", those retail releases are comprised almost entirely of "Star Wars", "Wacky Packages", "Garbage Pail Kids" and sports cards. it's just different growing up these days and I don't think we'll ever see trading cards as popular as they were in the 1960's and 1970's. along came cable TV, video games and the internet and kids didn't have time or money for trading cards, monster magazines, model kits and even comics anymore. then convenience stores got the brilliant idea to add gas pumps and drove out the stand alone gas stations.
